Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Assesses and treats speech articulation (how sounds are made), receptive language (ability to understand language), expressive language (ability to form language) and social skills (how we use language and actions to interact with others) Improves a child’s ability to communicate and be understood by others during various activities in their environment.

Psychologist

Consults with teaching and therapy staff regarding intervention. Works with children and their families to support behavioural health. Consults with families regarding behaviours and parenting strategies. Provides families with referrals to extend supports.

Physiotherapist (PT)

Assesses and treats mobility, strength, balance, coordination and motor planning (hopscotch, skipping, galloping, jumping jacks, etc.) Maximizes children’s abilities and independence in gross motor skills to prevent injuries, promote socialization and above all encourage safety in the classroom and playground environments.

Occupational Therapist (OT)

Promotes independence by supporting the physical, sensory and motor skill needs of children. Play is an important skill for children and OTs can assist the learning of skills for playing, school performance and daily activities.

Learning Support Facilitator

Work under the guidance of the Learning Support Teacher in collaboration with the therapists to provide a holistic approach in providing in school and in home support to children and their families. Focus on social and emotional child development by doing parent-child play based activities in school and in home and exploring areas of difficulty.

Learning Support Teacher

The Learning Support Teacher (LST) is responsible for supporting the academic, social and emotional needs of students.
